About Sophie

Sophie is very active and extremely loving and so very sweet! Her birthday is January 23, 2015. She'll be a young 5yr old this year. I rescued Sophie back in May 2019. I had her on this site and then life got busy with a couple deaths in the family and finding her a home fell on the priority list. I thought I could handle having her but that is not fair to Sophie I have come to realize. She needs a forever home where people understand her breed and love and accept who she is as an energetically barking dog. I have never owned a dog and I read somewhere that Jack Russell's are probably not the best first dog to have. I love this little sweetheart. I love her so much that I need to find a perfect forever home for her. It would be selfish for me to keep her with the lifestyle I have. I am gone for sometimes up to 9 hr a day. Sophie is a people person. She loves to follow you around and loves when you talk to her. I'm sure it's because she is just waiting for you to go to the park or outside somewhere or even better to give her another treat or something else yummy! She loves kids and she even loves other dogs, although it takes her a little time to warm up to them. I recently bought a training collar for her...and yes it is the electric shock kind as well as vibration. The longer I have had Sophie the more possessive she becomes and is unwilling to allow other dogs near me. This does not work as we see a lot of other dogs in my life. The collar works amazing and she now receives other dogs well and within 10-20min I can take the collar off and shes great! There is just something to the initial meeting that she has become not so accepting of other dogs right away. She does not do well with cats. At first I thought she would learn but she gets too crazy with cats and appears to want to nip or bite at them. I have not used the collar yet to help train her away from cats yet...might work but she's too crazy around cats that I wouldn't want to try myself. Sophie is not aggressive around food or toys. She loves to play and be outside. She is potty trained and has her shots updated and is extremely healthy. I hope to find the best home for her and that whoever takes her gives her so much love and attention she will forget all about her prior life and meld with you as she has with me. I will take her back in a hot second with no questions asked. It's important to me that she is happy and in a LOVING forever home. Please contact me with any questions you might have.
