Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Adoption Fee:$200 Date into Rescue: 8/22/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release from a hoarding situation Special Needs: Behavior- Very timid What kind of home would be best for me: Stacey needs a home with a lot of patience and experience in bringing puppy mill dogs out of their shell. She is not a lap dog, and may never be. She is happy coexisting with humans but requires very little interaction. What is my personality like: Stacey was rescued from a breeder hoarder and she is used to melting into the background, being one of many and not bringing attention to herself. She is painfully shy but there is no meanness in her. She simply does not know what to do so she stays still. She's looking for patience and someone to earn her trust. She does not want to be picked up. She is not that trusting yet. Stacey does fear bite (not hard enough to leave marks) and fear pees, This is probably due to her having very minimal human interaction. She loves other dogs...and is often found in a puppy pile with her buddies. Stacey is highly treat motivated. The good about Stacey: She has learned to trust certain caregivers and is very eager for love and attention. This proves to us that she does have potential but it will just take someone special to help her. How do I act when I first meet new people: Very quiet and shy. Tips and Tidbits: Stacey really wants to be with a human, she just isn't sure how to receive love and affection. In May of 2018, Stacey jumped from her crate and caught her leg and ended up breaking it. We've had it fixed and it does not bother her but occasionally she will dangle the leg. House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
