Name: Dolly Jo Sex: Female Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed (long coat) Weight: 9.3 lb Height: 10 in Estimated Birthdate: 6/28/2017 Fence Needed: Yes - Dolly has never had to walk on a leash. Her foster parents are working with this skill but it's a new one for her. She loves the freedom of a fenced in yard to run and romp and play. Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Adoption Fee:$299 Date into Rescue: 6/29/2019 Reason for being in rescue: SC shelter- Seized in a hoarding case. Special Needs:none noted What kind of home would be best for me: Dolly needs a home that will be willing to win her over and allow her to be the lap dog she truly is! Dolly likes other dogs and gets along with all other dogs big and small. She would be very happy with canine companions although she could be happy with a family that loves her and spends a lot of time with her if there was not another dog in the home. What is my personality like: Sweet Dolly Jo came from a less than fortunate situation. She is shy but she grows more each day! In her comfort zone she wants to be a lap dog. She enjoys the attention of her human circle. Outside of her comfort zone with new people and new situations, she is very shy and needs to get acclimated. Dolly Jo will let you know when she wants your attention. She will whine or put her paws on your leg to beg or better yet, if your sitting down she will bound into your lap! She prefers human affection far more than she does toys. Dolly doesn't really know what toys and basic commands are yet, but she can learn. She understands no / leave it and kennel and she will happily comply with those cues. Dolly has a high puppy type level energy. Once she knows how to walk on a leash she will love to go for walks and discover all of the new places that she can. So far here, she gets along fine with cats. How do I act when I first meet new people: Sweet but can be shy. Tips and Tidbits: estimated birth date 6/28/2017. Dolly is due to be spayed the third week of August and will be available for adoption after 8/23. She is fostered in Lexington SC. House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
