Adoption Fee: $200
Poodle
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Name: Chico of Cumberland Sex: Male Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Poodle (Miniature) (long coat) Weight: 17 lbS Height: 12 in Estimated Birthdate: 11/24/2007 Fence Needed: No Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Adoption Fee:$200 Date into Rescue: 12/16/19 Reason for being in rescue: Owner passed away Special Needs: Someone forgot to tell him he's a senior dog. He acts like a 4 year old What kind of home would be best for me: Chico needs a home with experienced owners since his priority is learning some manners. He is quite willing to please so this should not be a difficult task. Until he is trained to respond to your command he should be in a fenced in area when off lease. He is not interested in running away, it's just that the world is so much fun to explore! What is my personality like: Chico has soulful brown eyes that are begging you for the time and attention needed to establish boundaries. He is a happy and friendly dog that gets along with any human and animal he encounters. Though he is categorized as a senior dog, this pup has the enthusiasm and energy of a puppy and will make a delightful companion when he learns what your expectations are and that you will be there for him. Chico loves walks and has the potential to do well on a leash once you have his attention. He is not a nervous or timid dog and does well checking out his neighborhood and meeting other walkers and their dogs. Chico is also happy sitting on the couch with you and will patiently put up with an inspection of his ears, nail clipping or the trimming of any hair out of place. He will do well with the groomer. Currently Chico is not so happy in his crate though this could change once a consistent and comforting routine is established. As he has spent much of his life as an undisciplined intact male he is just now learning to be appropriate in the house. There has been much improvement in this behavior in a short time and especially so after his neuter procedure. He is a smart boy ready to be your good dog! How do I act when I first meet new people: No reservations, Chico loves everyone and everything. Tips and Tidbits: (11/24/07) Chico may be classified as a 'senior dog' but don't tell him that! Age hasn't slowed him down at all. House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
