Thank You for your cooperation*** WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Renton, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay, PayPal, or cash. Merry had a very rough start to life. As a young dog in China she appears to have been used and abused for breeding purposes and then sold to the slaughter truck when the breeder had no use for her. Our fearless Chinese rescue partners intercepted the truck on the way to the slaughter house and managed to save Merry and 200 other poodles on the truck. After this first rescue, Merry lived in a outdoor rescue with 4000 other dogs and often didn't get enough food to eat. Merry was fortunate to have been spotted by our Rescue Sister who scooped her up and brought her back to her much smaller rescue to get her prepared to fly to Seattle. When Merry arrived in Seattle our vets discovered that she was suffering from severe tooth decay and gum recession. Merry received an extensive dental cleaning including extracting 10 teeth. She has healed well and is now ready to find her forever home. Currently she is in a foster home and adjusting well to being a pet and to the security of regular meals and love and attention. She is very affectionate and loves to be pet and have her head rubbed. She's a very smart and agreeable pup and she's food motivated and eager to please. She does ok on a leash and is doing a great job of going potty outside and only using a potty pad inside. Merry will need continued work with potty training and basic obedience. Merry has not been around young children but is fond of the teen girls in her foster home. Merry is indifferent towards the cat in the foster home. It is always up to the new family to be responsible with introducing new pets and in all interactions with pets and children. Merry is about four years old and weighs about 8lbs. Based on her appearance we believe she is a toy poodle. She has been spayed, is current on all vaccines including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, and rabies. Merry is microchipped, and has been wormed twice. This sweet girl has been through trauma and many transitions in her short life and is depending on us to find her the best forever home possible. With that in mind we are looking for a home where another dog is present. She needs a home that is able to be patient with the transition, willing to work with a trainer if necessary, and able to give her unconditional love. Please only submit an application if you are ready to adopt now and willing to go through our process. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people who are not ready to commit. Please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we are unfortunately not able to respond to everyone. We appreciate your understanding. Merry has an adoption fee of $1190.
