About Chadney

Senior Chadney came to us when his family died. He is a friendly 10 year old, 10-12 pound Chiweenie. Chadney had a hard time at first. Both of his human parents were gone and he had to adjust to a whole new environment. He is settling in though, and loves affection and attention from his person. We know he had a doggy sibling in his prior home, and does well with the other dogs in his foster home. He also seems fine with cats. A home with young children is not recommended. He walks on a leash fairly well, but really doesn't like being outside. When he's out there he starts to get anxious and would much rather find a place inside to sit. We don't know what led to that behavior, maybe when his people died he was left outside on his own, but inside is where he feels comfortable and safe. He is pretty good in the house, but prefers to potty on the porch instead of the yard. He loves to be held, but when it's time to sleep he goes out and climbs on a kitchen chair. His foster mom thinks that he might have slept on a chair outside. She tried to put him in the big bed for the night, but he was nervous and unsettled like he wasn't supposed to be there, and went back to his chair. Fun fact about Chadney: he's part mountain goat! He likes to climb on all sorts of things. Chadney has had all of his shots, is microchipped with a lifetime registration and is due to be neutered soon. He is heartworm positive and has started treatment. The rescue continues to provide the treatment until he tests negative, and the adopter must agree to continue this treatment. Chadney is a good boy who just wants a family and home of his own. We want him to know he is loved and worthy of a good home. If you are interested in him please submit an adoption application!
