About Thor

Hello, my name is Thor. I am a pure bred Central Asian Shepherd. I am a very big boy and weigh between 150-170 pounds. I am 5 years old but my breed can live up to 17 years. My tail is docked but my ears are not, I am just a big, lazy, sweet dog. I get along with other dogs and cats as long as they don't come near me while I have a bone or toy I really care about. I do prefer to be fed separately from other animals. The rescue I am at pulled me from a kill shelter where I was surrendered by my owners because they could not treat my allergies. All that is now under control and my hair has grown back. You can see in the picture my spot on my leg where I licked over several years because of my discomfort with my allergy and it has now become more of a habit. I don't take any meds for my allergies. My rescue has worked with me and I am doing much better with it but I do have a lump on my leg that is scar tissue that has built up under it but vet says there is nothing wrong with it and it doesn't need to be removed and it doesn't slow me down one bit. I do like to patrol and protect my area and I bark at things near my yard. But I love my kids, I love trips in the car and going to Rural King, and I live with 3 other dogs, 2 large and one that is 15 pounds. My rescue says my new owner needs to be experienced with very large/extra-large breeds as I am very strong. Knowing something about my breed is a plus, I don't have papers and I am fixed and vaccinated. My ideal home would be in a home with out other dogs so that I can have all the attention on me. I am an inside dog so please don't inquire about me if you want to leave me outside all the time, though I do love to be outside, I love to sleep inside and be with my family.
