About Rumi

Rumi is an approximately 3-4 year old, spayed female, border collie, sight hound mix (suspected to be whippet). Unfortunately, due to unforeseen personal medical expenses and overtime work schedules we feel we cannot provide Rumi with adequate attention. The perfect home for Rumi would include a part or full time stay at home parent, a grass/astroturf lawn, and someone willing to walk her at least once a day. Rumi is a kind and affectionate dog. She loves to snuggle on the couch, play tug, go on walks/hikes, and loves people and other dogs. Rumi is a big fan of the dog park and does have some basic obedience training. As she is part sight hound, she would do better with older children ()4 years). Rumi does have some special needs. She has season allergies that are mitigated by taking apoquel (~$80 per 3 months). She has a strong prey drive and will chase small animals including cats. She also has separation anxiety and must be kenneled when left alone.
