About Chief

Siberian Husky mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Currently in foster in Olympia, Washington. CHIEF is a superb dog...very regal...very sweet...very energetic. After he releases some of his energy, he does well on the leash and is very attentive (see YouTube video). He loves everybody. He has just been neutered, so it will take about 30 days for his testosterone level to come down. For now he should be an 'only dog' in his home. He is friendly to other dogs but the activity level makes everyone a bit restless. Chief is only 50#s...because of his hair he looks much larger. He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested NEG for heart worms. Of course, we have him on heart worm prevention. You ask, 'Does he howl?' Of course...he is hilarious. If you howl, he will howl! He just loves doing that. It's like he's singing! He is personality plus. Will he do it at night outside...probably...for awhile. I tell him to be quiet and he will quit most of the time. Being inside would cure that. The adoption includes neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, transport with one of our professional dog transporters, 6 mos of heart work prevention, and 30 days of FREE emergency medical care. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the on-line application. http://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ You can also go to our Face Book page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. IMPORTANT INFO: If you are interested in this pup/dog, please fill out the application (link listed above). The rescue will contact you once the application is received. Although we strive to answer everyone, due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, we cannot guarantee a response to all emails. Filling out the application is the best way and ensures a response from the rescue. In addition, while you are emailing us, if others apply, you can lose out adopting the dog you chose. We have hundreds and hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. However, if you are applying or have applied anywhere else, we do need to know that. Also, please note that we are almost always holding adoption events on Saturdays at noon at Pet Works in Olympia, Washington if you would like to meet with us in person. A note about pricing: Puppy adoption fees generally are $495; adult dogs fees generally are $395. However, fees vary depending on the dog/puppy. Some pups/dogs have flexible adoption fees. It can even depend just on the foster availability, if pre adopted, etc. Our adoption fees cover the cost of transportation from Texas and the necessary health certificate documentation. The fees also include all medical costs to make sure the pups are appropriately vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and spayed/ neutered. Additionally, any dogs over 6 months have had a negative heart-worm test. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and a myriad of other vetting. If the adoption fees seem high (which never cover the true cost of rescue), we recommend fostering for a good rescue. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees. We are always in need of good fosters. We are all volunteers and many of us donate 70+ hours/week and thousands/year of our own funds. WA and OR shelters are funded by taxpayers, hence, many have lower adoption fees. Shayne's rescue is a few foster parents in the Olympia/Tumwater area. We foster dogs that rescues ask us to foster and let those rescues use this site to list those pups/dogs and rehome them. We donate all of our time, food, monies to assist in getting these dogs forever homes. We are not responsible for any experience you have with any dog you might see posted on this site. They are the property, if you will, of the rescue they come from and all paperwork and vet work you will receive when you adopt and it will have all that information for you. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. Since worldwide over 1/2 billion puppies/dogs are PTS yearly and over 9,000/day just in U.S. shelters, yes even entire litters of puppies are PTS daily in many US shelters! Hence, we firmly believe there is NO breed other than rescue for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
