About McCoy

This poor girl has 3 strikes against her! #1 she doesn't look perfect, she is blind in one eye #2 she's a black dog (least likely to be adopted from a shelter and #3 she is a pittbull in an area of many breed bans. Appears to really like kids but not cats I have been able to meet some great dogs but none can really compare to Miss. Lily McCoy (McCoy in the system). She reminds me why I do what I do and love it every single day. One look at her and the first thing you are probably going to notice are the scars. The scars all over her face. The scars that tell a story even though she's not able to. Or the damaged eye that went untreated and led to her loosing vision in that eye. When you get her out of the kennel you may notice the way she walks past the other dogs. Tail high daring one of the other dogs to try something. What it may take a minute for you to notice though; behind all the battle scars and tuff exterior is the amazing dog she is. All she truly wants is a person to love her and reassure her when she gets upset. Lily McCoy is the perfect example of a dog showing forgiveness. It's apparent that she didn't come from a good home. Just discarded after she was done producing puppies. But even after everything she has been though she will still cuddle up next to you in the car. Looking up with that one good eye and slowly lick your hand. Every time I hang out with this sweet girl it just reminds me how amazing dogs truly can be. No matter what they have been through. She is blind in one eye. The love and compassion that this girl shows every single day never stops amazing me.
