( short) She is very picky about whom she likes. Health tested, healthy, & trained. Please read Gracie's profile, it will answer most of your questions. She likes most women as long as they aren't wearing heavy perfumes, haven't been around smokers, and give her time to come to you. She loves to play fetch and will bring balls to throw as long as you can raise your arm. She is a very sweet, loving, cuddly, baby girl. Gracie is very healthy, loves to run, plays chase, but can also be very heard headed if she does not get her way. She loves other standard poodles and is a very rough girl to be so small. She weighs around 42 pounds, very stout. Gracie loves being outdoors, loves to chase squirrel, wild turkey, big birds, and is the chipmunk hunter. Gracie is on a grain free diet and has a small mouth so I try to feed her Nutro small bites ( she likes salmon, lamb, & chicken) and will try to mix another brand with it for the extra protein.( Victors) but she can turn picky quickly. She loves for me to mix some wet food in her food, she is pretty spoiled. She knows the senior standards get wet food mixed with kibble so she an hold out to see if they leave anything before she eats. Gracie always gets fed twice a day but often waits until evenings to eat. Gracie is smart, observentant, knows time ( when the treats are given), loves to be babied, will get in my lap, stretch out on her back and wait for the belly rubs. She also likes to do this when she is groomed. You just turn her the way you need her to be and she lays there. LOL *** I feel in her case, she would do better with a female and would love to have at least one other standard to play with. She can neve be left alone for more than 3 hours. She is good on trips, a good guest in anyone's home, loves going to the nursing homes, assisted living, stores, etc. but is not comfortable in the library for very long. She was tasted by a 19 year old whose dad gave him the thing, knowing he had mental issues. So she watches men's hands to see what they are holding . Gracie LOVES the country vet, hates the vets in big group offices. She remembers any human or other 4 legged, guys she meets. Some men she is okay with, others who have standards , she loves them & their families. She is super fast so you must have a fenced in yard. I do not adopt to breeders even if they have not bred in 50 years. Gracie is altered. She is on a heart worm preventative and has never had heart worms. She will bark if anyone comes inside the gate or to the door. Each standard has their own elevated single feeder bowl/holder. She loves salt water fish, sweet pot, egg whites, chicken breast, salmon, a little cheese, but I usually break her treats into smaller pieces but se can sure tear up a Dentistix. She does NOT like to be left alone, has never been crated, likes to be brushed, loves to carry a toy around with her, she loves to teach a new rescue, show them around but then if they leave, she gets upset. This is the only reason I am seeking that perfect home where she will be happy. I do not feel she will ever get use to seeing rescues leave, or service dogs, without becoming upset. If you meet all the requirements, can pass a home inspection, have great references, love poodles, realize they own you forever, and will treat her like family, then you must*** request the # 1 APP from this e-mail***, Resueme.Org and ask me to e-mail it to you. I do check everything, vets, groomers, references, check for aggressive breeds in your neighborhood, & anything else to make certain every rescue is safe, wanted, loved, family, and spoiled rotten. No crating ever, No shut up in a room or dark area, etc. I do want to hear about her If the right home is found. I love and care about EVERY rescue, but some are harder to trust with anyone else. Past adopters will tell you , I do worry a lot, call me about them, let me see photos, JUST let me know they are doing great . ( otherwise, I may just be on your doorsteps again) You do sign a legal contract.
