About Daisy

Dalmatian mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

I adopted Daisy from a rescue home in Alabama 4 years ago. She came from a physically abusive situation where she was probably bred at least once if not more. She has a scar down her back possibly from hot oil I was told by the rescue home. She was deathly afraid of men which over time she began to trust men again. She adapted well with my other dogs, cats, goats and chickens. She is an escape artist and I've had to hot wire the fence to keep her from digging out. She sees it as a game to escape and appears proud of herself when discovered out of the fenced area. She has gotten out last year and went for the neighbors two 3 lb very hairy dogs and shook them by the scuff. In the process of the owner trying to rescue her dogs she was bit on the hand. The animal control deemed Daisy as vicious. She isn't vicious but thats what they have to label her as. The two small dogs share a fence line and do a fence fighting routine so I think when she escaped the yard, she saw the dogs which were the size of a small rabbit she went for them. When in the yard she chases squirrels and raccoons out of the yard. She has the natural instinct to chase small animals. A few weeks ago Daisy killed my female duck and ate most of her which I was very surprised that she did that in the middle of the day. I'm not not trusting her around my other ducks and chickens though she has been around them since I adopted her 4 years ago. Daisy needs to go to a home that is not farm situated and more city living where she can go for walks. She has been around small poodles before when a friend visited with his dogs so she isn't an aggressive dog at all. I am worried if she gets out of the fenced acre we live on that she will go after a neighbors cat or small dog. I can't risk this to happen. I am hoping someone will want to adopt her and take her for long walks and car rides as she likes car rides a lot. She came to me not knowing how to sit on demand and still won't sit on demand. She is definitely a food motivated dog. She would do best with another dog as she like to play or a home as an only dog so she can get all the attention she needs.
