Hi I'm Ghost! Don't let my name scare you - it's because I'm white and I was afraid of everyone after I was dumped on the streets of Brenham, TX. I regularly visited a local school and church looking for my family but wouldn't let anyone come near me! This kind town and local Animal Shelter saw that I was in need of help and regularly visited me. For months they would bring me food, treats and even flea prevention because I was covered with those pesty things. Eventually I trusted them and boy (yep that's me) am I glad I did! Eventually Animal Services caught up with me when I entered a back yard where landscapers were working. The workers closed the gate and called the officers to come pick me up. As you can imagine, I needed some time to adjust to shelter life. I am now very connected to shelter staff and volunteers who work with me and I have been around other dogs. I love to wrestle and play chase with dogs my size, but I am not convinced little dogs might not be squeaky toys in disguise, so I will be great as an only dog or with another dog my size who is ready for a playmate. Not having human interaction and direction in my life, I get very excited with my human friends and I am ready to learn some good manners that will help me be ready for my perfect family! I have been at the shelter since September 20th, and Animal Services staff have implemented a plan to find me a permanent home. Please read their message below on how you can help! We have an amazing trainer lined up who is ready to take Ghost in for 5-6 weeks of doggie manners boarding school. Before Ghost can be accepted into school, though, he needs a committed adopter or foster who can take him in to continue to maintain what he's learned once he graduates. Imagine adopting a wonderful, famous pup with 5-6 weeks of professional training! We are anxious to get Ghost into this great opportunity but we are at a standstill until that wonderful person steps up to adopt or foster him after he completes training. Can you be Ghost's hero and be that person???
