He has been vetted and neutered. He is good with nice cats and seems to prefer female. He is good with older kids and dogs with the proper introduction. Chito was a family pet that had been thrown out to fend for himself. Several people in the neighborhood fed him but nobody would make the commitment to get him off the street. One night he was walking down the middle of the road meowing and almost got hit by a car so his rescuer called to him and he came right to her. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! Chito was so thankful to have been saved from the streets, he sat on the lap of his rescue mom the first night and slept. He has been very kick back, just wanting love and food. He likes to be touched all over and will lay on his back for belly rubs while kneading the air. He is still getting used to being held and picked up. He is starting to get used to indoor sights and sounds like the ceiling fan, tv and washer and dryer and will be cautious at first otherwise he mozies around purring and kneading while he walks. A lot of normal indoor sounds and quick movements will startle him at first until he gets used to them. Give him a gentle body massage and he will start to drool. He can be quite the talker and loves to be talked back to. He has a lot of love to give, he just needs time and patience to get used to being back indoors where it is safe. All he wants is to be laying and touching his people and he will be a happy boy. He is feeling good and ready to play! He loves furry mice, balls with no sound and interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. He is a horizontal scratcher and loves a rectangle corrugated scratcher that lays flat on the floor and a stiff carpet scrap. He loves a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with the sun rays beaming in. He loves kitty treats and has no litter box issues. He has been free fed quality hard food (the first ingredient beginning with meat) and gets %BD%BD%BD%BD can Fancy Feast in the morning and night. His foster family had a friend visit and also the vet did a home visit and he didn't do well at all. He got extremely anxious and felt cornered so a slow introduction with a new family with patience is a must. Below information is for preventative purposes%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cats fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health.
