About Leo

Leo was rescued at 10 weeks old from an abusive breeder, he came from a mom who was being akc bred and had visible cancer tumors, he only fed and watered when people came around going by there behavior when I toured the farm. He cost $500 to buy and was emaciated, blood infected, colitis, flea infested, had ton of worms and two types of mange, it took a couple thousand to revive him but by 5 months, with many borax baths and injections weekly and antibiotics, weekly vet appointments he is the healthiest smartest dog I have ever had. He is FULLY potty trained. He LOVES people and hates others dogs because of his food aggression/worry of starving. He was born august 2018 double dew claw akc. We have tried in home training by us, we tried paying for a shelter to take him and find a home with no other dogs, they chose to let me know he did not qualify and went on the euthanasia list so I IMMEDIATELY picked him back up and got him neutered and chipped. He is akc. I am going to foster him until I find the perfect adoption which would be ; a younger couple ready for a giant breed, someone with appropriate house and yard room for a big dog, he loves being in doors and out equally and LOVES his humans and being right by them. They must be able to keep him fit and keep up with him. We tease we should of named him butter because soon as you rub him he melts in a pile falling onto the floor lol. He is allergic to chicken. Has had heart guard plus his whole life and all shots documented with every vet visit. We chose to neuter him LATE at 16 months because it helps this breed avoid cancer and injuries to an immature body. So he did great on his neuter last week and has a new chip ��%BD����%BD We love him so, but these two GP's I have are going to kill each other, it's exhausting keeping them apart. You are welcome to talk to the Boulder Co humane society behavior clinic on a full run down of his psyche, he does have separation anxiety if you trap him in a small area when you leave, if you leave him out and puppy proof a bit, he does fab. His life has been full of fresh cooked meat and sweet potatoes , fish and science diet. No crap food or treats have gone into this dog. He loves seaweed! We are working on leash training he is doing much better ��%BD����%BD -He wants to sleep in bed with you, play tag, and ball keep away! LOVES chewing his ram antler. He has never hurt a person, nor ever injured another dog, large fights have been stopped that are very scary because of his alpha behavior. Help me find him a great home! I am in Fort Collins CO.
