About Rin Tin Tin

Please note, we are a Texas based rescue that transports our pups once they are adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes, so much is known about their temperament, training level and personality. We know adopting a dog sight unseen can be daunting, so we are happy to share additional videos, photos and even let you Facetime with the pup. We are primarily an equine rescue, but do assist with a small number of dogs annually. We are happy to provide references from previous adopters if needed. Thank you for wanting to adopt! OK, I know what you are thinking; the original Rin Tin Tin was a magnificent German Shepard who was rescued from the battlefield during World War One. But, did you know that he was named after the little knitted puppets that the French children made for and presented to the American Soldiers during that war? As an adorable, male Jack Russel Terrier/Rat Terrier dawg, just consider me more the size one of the little knitted puppets that were the inspiration for the moniker for the great GSD!! Or, just chuckle and realize that my Foster Mum has quite an unusual sense of humor :) However, I do have the heart, devotion, and calm demeanor of the original Rin Tin Tin. I would be a great companion for a person, family, or couple that is very active. Our daily walks around the ranch are the highlight of my day. I am a smart fella!! Just imagine getting all of the attributes of a GSD in a pint sized package!! My outlook on life is definitely 'the glass is half full'; I possess a sunny disposition and am an easy going dude. When the chihuahua puppy yaps constantly at me, I turn around an walk off. I also LOVE playing with toys. I will throw them up in the air and keep myself entertained. At 3 years young, I weigh in at a muscular 15 pounds of fun!! For my future life, being part of a hooman's life is a must! I thrive on interaction and love. Being included in outings to the coffee shop, restaurants, and soccer games is in my wheelhouse!! I am well behaved and have good social skills!! My original owners had to 'relocate'...whatever that means for them!! What it meant for me was leaving my beloved family and moving onto my Foster Family's ranch. Don't get me wrong; I am a very grateful dude regarding my Foster Family and try to show my appreciation through good behavior and chin licks. My coat is short and snow white with an interesting 'Phantom of the Opera' kind of mask. A single brown 'flame' shaped brown spot is in the center of my forehead;quite the conversation starter. So, whether you are a fan of the original Rin TinTin, puppets, or muppets, I hope that you will give a guy a chance and adopt me!! I promise that you won't be disappointed; I will do my very best to fit seamlessly into your life.
