Wilma was surrendered by her former owner to be euthanized- because she coughs... People can be so cruel. She may have a collapsed trachea, but we won't know for sure until she gets to the vet. Thankfully the shelter gave her a chance, and spared her life for us to rescue her. Her new home will be with someone who will understand her needs, and appreciates her for the sweetheart she is. She is much more sprightly than one would assume when meeting an alleged 16 year old dog. When taken for her first walk, she galloped around to sniff everything. Her walk may be a little crooked, but it doesn't affect her bright spirit. She took a bath without complaints, let me clean her ears, and enjoyed rubbing her face all over the towels afterwards. She settled in nicely with the dogs and cats in the house. Her appreciation of soft warm blankets is very apparent. She will only know love and comfort from now on.
