We will not answer specific questions until we have an application on file.*** Eddie is a great 7 year old, 24 lb. brindle boy. At a young age, Eddie's mom died suddenly. His dad never cared for him and he was left in a dog crate and given newspapers to potty on. He had very little human interaction, except to clean his crate and eat. Until he came to rescue, he stayed in that crate for over four years. When he was let out, his dad would hit him with his cane or kick at him when he jumped. Eddie is now learning what it is to be a dog. He's an independent little guy who enjoys his chew toys, but also likes to be next to his person when it's time to relax. He absolutely loves a game of tug and will fetch and tug for as long as you want to toss a pull toy. He needs work on his manners, but his foster family said he has made good strides with house rules. He's also improving on his house training now that he has a regular schedule in a home. He is a very smart boy and a quick learner, but would definitely benefit from taking obedience classes. Eddie walks very well on a leash and enjoys being outside with his people. He's a happy boy and isn't aggressive at all or a true alpha, but doesn't play well with some dogs. He would do best as an only dog or with another that will stand their ground on his playfulness. His new family needs to understand that Eddie still needs to be socialized when possible since he really loves being around other dogs. Eddie will need someone who is positive with any corrections and provide love without pushing him to return that love, until he feels safe and secure. His ideal person would be a strong leader who understands he's not a bad dog and would be secure in their alpha position to give Eddie the confidence he needs from that leadership.
