About Luke

Looking for a sweetie with lots of spunk? That's Luke, a Rat Terrier without a mean bone in his body! His foster mom hasn't seen him growl at another dog or human even once! Luke is very polite when meeting new dogs, from playful pups to the grumpy and elderly. Although he is wary of new humans, he's quite the social butterfly among those he trusts (having a dog with him makes him come out of his shell more quickly). Just 4 years old and a svelte 10 lbs., Luke has lots of energy. He loves to play fetch with toys and wrestle with other dogs. He keeps up with much bigger dogs on long walks and can wear out his canine friends during their wrestle bouts! On the flip side, Luke is a huge cuddler, who sits in the laps of people he trusts and sleeps under the covers at night with his foster mom and her other dogs. While Luke is not yet 100% at house-training and has had a few indoor accidents, he's working on it. He's also working on playing more gently. He can get a bit intense with grabbing at scruffs and limbs, but he responds well to redirection and positive reinforcement.
