About Kaia

Calling all German Shepherd lovers! Meet Kaia, a stunning six-year-old GSD with the keen intellect and loyalty her breed is known for, and a playful, silly side too. Kaia is housebroken, crate trained and is extremely loving and eager to please her people (particularly when there are treats involved, she's very food motivated ). She is learning more every day, and will benefit from experienced human partner who will help her build her confidence as she learns. Kaia's silly moments are hilarious; when she needs to announce that she would like to go outside, she gives her foster mom a look, looks at her butt, then spins in a circle like a puppy, chasing her tail. After a nice walk when she is relaxed, she is joyful and bouncy and loves to play with her wubba toy or a tug toy. A devoted companion, Kaia is happiest when she is stimulated mentally and physically; she loves learning new skills, and loves to discover new smells on walks. Kaia is a strong girl who needs to build her confidence, so she is looking for an adult home or a home with children 12+. She absolutely loves sniffing around outside, and requires a physically fenced yard in her forever home (squirrels would tempt her right through an invisible fence). AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care, so please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested prior to submitting. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health and safety of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you.
