About Cowgirl

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hi! I'm Cowgirl. My fosters named me cowgirl because it looks like I'm wearing fancy cowboy boots and I'm a bit of a tomboy. My mommy and daddy were strays without 'official' owners, but we did have some nice people trying to take care of us. K-9 Angels thought they could find me and my brothers and sisters good homes. I really like playing with my litter mates, but my new best friend is Black Eyed Pea! She is another foster. My new favorite activity is getting snuggles and scratches!! Getting held and loved on is the best thing ever! I get excited when I see my foster family and their dog, but I am pretty calm too. When I am tired, I sleep HARD! Sometimes I am so tired that I don't even wake up when I get picked up and put back in the crate after playtime. My foster parents say I'm getting pretty good at potty training! I go outside most of the time, and when I'm playing inside, I go on the potty pads. Sometimes I don't realize my rear end isn't quite over the pad and don't always hit my mark, but I bet I'll have it figured out by next week! I'm pretty quick at learning new things. This week I learned how to go up and down stairs and sit for treats! My foster mom says I'm going to be a stunner because I have a really shiny, thick coat. I think I would do well in any type of family, especially one with other dogs. But mostly, I just want someone to adore that will love on me! Will you be my furrrrever friend please? Cowgirl is a Lab/Collie mix that was born on 10/2/19 and currently weighs 13.4 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
