About Colton

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. COLTON! What a beauty! Colton is a male brindle Plott Hound mix, ~6mo, that is blow- your-mind smart, super gentle and a big sweetheart. He spent most of his young life in a shelter kennel but couldn't be more well-adjusted to being a house dog, including being potty and kennel trained. However, he is so well-behaved he sleeps in a bed next to his foster mom's bed. Either in kennel or his bed he never makes a sound and doesn't get up till he's told to. He is eager to please and exponentially learning so a family who has time to train and stimulate his heart and brain will be best. He loves kids, belly rubs, and other dogs (playful small dogs and large dogs that aren't too rough - he's a lover not a fighter and does appreciate his down-time, he's a bit lazy for being a puppy;)). He is very mild mannered despite his size...his big webbed-flipper paws says he's got plenty of growing to do into his lanky silly body. He has an incredible nose and with his intelligence, sensitivity, and loyalty his foster mom would love for him to have an opportunity to be a medical therapy dog, especially for a child. Colton is a male Plott Hound Mix that we estimate to be born around 7/1/2019 and currently weighs 31 pounds. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
