About Fleas-Navidad

Do you need a hug? My name is Fleas Navidad (but I go by Diesel), and I ask because I LOVE to hug! One of my favorite things is when you pick me up and hold me against you with my front legs over your shoulders. If you've never had a hug from a dog before, I can tell you that you are missing out! I'm a cute little guy. I'm just over a year old and appear to be a Border Collie/Jack Russell mix. I'm small enough to be very manageable, but big enough to run or hike with the best of them. I seem to have many of the mannerisms of a herding dog, which means I like to keep a close eye on things, I have some energy, and I am not above trying to herd any kids in my house! I'd make a great companion for someone who wants a smart and active dog. I'm agile and very light on my feet. I love to engage with people and can do tricks for treats- I know SIT, DOWN and SHAKE PAW. I would love to learn more tricks and earn more treats. Even though I have plenty of energy, I have also shown that I can settle down nicely and I like to curl up next to you. I also ride really well - quiet as a mouse - in the car. Some of my favorite places to go are McDonald's and Chick-fil-a. I love me some fast food! I'm still settling in and the volunteers are getting to know me. I am a little nervous initially, but warm up quickly as I seem to be gaining confidence as I get used to being in a new place. Because of my desire to try to herd running kids, I am best in a home with dog-savvy or older children. Check back for updates.
