About Monster

Adoption Fee: $50
Siamese / Domestic Cat
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Monster has been my close buddy for many years. He loves and depends on someone to provide the basics. One thing he is missing since we moved into apartment life 4 years ago, is the ability to go in and outdoors. He loves the outdoors as much as the indoors. He's a very curious and intelligent cat. He understands things and loves to find hidden treats and if you happen to leave a bag of treats within his reach, he will find a way to open the back and help himself. I keep them out of reach. He loves to climb and scratch on cat posts of any kind. He has never, ever, scratched on furniture or anything besides the posts and scratchers made for cats. He is very shy and usually takes mainly to one person and bonds closely once he knows you are his master and friend. He meows politely if he is in need of food or water or even a treat, which he expects at least once or twice a day. I usually provide 5 or six little kibble treats and he loves when they are hidden behind things on a desk or around his climber or somewhere on the floor. He LOVES whipped cream in small amounts but doesn't care for whipped 'toppings' that are not dairy. He also loves being brushed or rubbed and purrs stretches with delight at physical attention. He is not a lap cat but enjoys short periods of snuggling together but will let you know when he is too warm or just done by squirming a little until you let him go. He enjoys playing rough and will bite gently if you use your hands or feet to play with him. He can occasionally bite just a little too hard if you are too aggressive but adjusts according to how hard you want to play! He has a distinctive meow similar to a siamese but not as strong as a pure bred. Since we moved to an upstairs apartment in a complex where pets are not allowed, I am able to have him as a comfort animal, but he cannot go outside at all and there is not route for him to go in and out. I think the small patio actually frustrates him because it is a long way down and he is a obviously a bit afraid of wandering too close to the edge of the balcony. He will sit out there under our table and chairs or nibble on cat grass but doesn't linger out there too long. It's not that much fun with no place to climb around or play. He has lost some of his agility and natural balance, but I think could gain a lot of that back with exposure to the outdoors and climbing along with running and jumping more.
