About Dugan

Dugan has a birth date of 7-21-19. He is a mix of Bernese mountain dog and Standard Poodle (Bernedoodle). Dugan came to us as a breeder surrender. Which means the breeder was not able to sell him for some reason or another. When we got the call to pick him up we were told the reason for him not being sold was he had a small umbilical hernia as a small puppy, so this made him 'undesirable'. Unfortunately we see this way to often when it comes breeder surrenders. If the puppies are not perfect they are concerned 'throw aways'. These puppies are NOT throw away puppies!! Some may not be perfect, but they still deserve a home with a family to love them. We of course are very thankful that we are now called to rescue these puppies to give them that chance. Dugan is very shy right now. You can tell from the picture that he is scared. We took his picture when we first got him out of his crate 12-6-19. Today he played with the other puppies that came in to rescue and we did see his tail wags a bit. You can tell he hasn't had much love, if any. That he probably was by himself for some time without alot of human contact. We are letting him get use to his toys, bed, and being inside. You can tell he's going to blossom and be great with a bit of time and patience. Puppies turn around pretty quickly once they are in a good environment. Dugan is current on his vaccinations, deworming, heartworm and flea prevention. We are looking for a home for him that does have another dog for him to pal around with and to give him comfort. Also he will need to have a fenced yard, a puppy that if fearful like this will be hard to take out to potty on a leash, so a fenced yard is a must.
