Meet 'Lady' Stellaluna. You might want me for my looks (I'm a purebred Persian!), but I need you to want all of me including my story. Before I was rescued by Purr Partners, my sole purpose was for breeding. That was a lot of hard work, and while my babies loved on me, no one else showed me respect or affection. When my former caretaker learned that I was FIV+ I was immediately surrendered! How you feel if you were completely misunderstood and mistreated for so long? Well, not any more. It took a little while for me to get mentally and physically healthy. They even had to give me a Lion's Cut because my gorgeous fur was so matted. Now, I have a glow in my eyes, fluff in my furr, a full tummy, and some spunk in my step. I have even learned how to relax, roll around, pounce on toys, and actually PLAY with other felines! My next venture: TRUST. I will follow you around, sniff your finger...but, be patient on petting, and please don't pick me up. I am really proud of myself because I let my foster dad snuggle me and pet me during naptime. I also let my foster mom pet me, but I am always afraid she will try to pick me up (usually to wipe my eyes or hug me - maybe that is love?). So, until I say ok, let's keep to walks around the house, cooking in the kitchen, and long stares...and the random treat of cheese. As for my ideal household, I can 100% be a solo cat, but...I am finding that I don't mind my foster fluffs, so maybe a patient, sweet friend to help me play will be OK. Dogs don't bother me, and if you have kids - tell them to stay back, because I'm not ready for their snuggles. So in order for you to meet me, I need you to be an approved adopter, and you need to educate yourself on FIV, AND for you to promise to understand ALL of me, not just my beautiful face and fur.
