About Sage

Sage Fostered in Montgomery, Texas Sage is an 8 month old double merle. She is deaf but that doesn't hold her back one bit. She does not seem to have any visual impairments but her left eye is sensitive to bright lights. She's a smart little girl and already understands a few hand signals such as stop and quiet/settle down. With adequate exercise she's a calm, obedient puppy. I'd say she has a moderate level of energy but her mind needs constant stimulation. She will need an active family and would do best with a job. She loves to herd my 5 small dogs (they don't love it so much) and loves a good game of chase. She's friendly with other dogs and has great manners at the dog park. She would do best with another dog her size or bigger or as the only dog. She loves kids too and so far has not tried to herd my children. She loves to chew bones and can be a little protective of her favorite toys. She is a typical high velcro Aussie and prefers to be not just next to, but touching her person at all times. She's house broken and does fabulous with a doggy door. She is very anxious when left alone in an XL kennel and I've made very little progress with overcoming this hurdle. We've been kenneling her at night or when we're gone in a 6x6 metal pen and she does ok in that. Sage is fully vetted and will be ready to head to her furever home next week.
