About Scooter

Scooter is a beautiful, sweet, docile, and extremely chubby, 16-pound, 12-year-old, green-eyed Tortoiseshell cat looking for a loving guardian. Her dad recently passed away and she was taken in temporarily by a neighbor. This lap-cat is accustomed to a human who is with her almost all the time. He was a 63-year-old disabled veteran who lived for his beloved cat. She slept with in, provided company, love and support as his emotional support creature. She has always lived as an only cat, but we think she can warm up to another cat or dog if it was gentle and sweet like she is. Sadly, his love for her included huge bowls of treats which caused her weight to sky-rocket. She is perfect with her litter box and loves to be brushed. And, occasionally bats her toy mic around and rolls with her catnip toys. She's currently living in a foster home with a gentle six-year-old child and she does just fine! She was purchased at a pet store as a kitten and only spayed later in life. She has developed mammary tumors which still need to be addressed by a veterinarian. So, she could have anywhere from three months to four years to live; that we do not know. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and lets me trim her nails without a hiss, growl or bite. For now she needs a loving guardian who will see her through her hospice or veterinary care, whatever is decided best.
