About SERAFINA

'SERAFINA' is a 2 to 2.5 yr old, 55 lb., black and tan German Shepherd/Husky mix female we rescued, along with her pup 'Nugget', from a very high kill dog pound. Serafina is much prettier than her pictures show, with gorgeous, soulful eyes; one brown & one pale blue. Serafina is a very smart & obedient girl, who is also sweet and loves to cuddle. Serafina loves the company of other equally kind, friendly, gentle-disposition dogs, and can change up her play style accordingly. (She even wrestles and plays with her daughter 'Nugget'). From her foster Mommy: 'Serafina was rescued with her puppy and they have a great time playing together. Serafina is a very loving girl who will chill on the couch with her family or run like a wild woman playing. Serafina is a very smart and observant girl - she walks well on a leash and is really looking around when she goes outside - she sees things I have to look twice at before I know what she is focused on. Serafina's hilarious that she thinks every time she goes potty she needs to cover it up - we're not in the big outdoors! She is crate trained but will pull and be at a dead run to get out the back door if she needs to go. Serafina does wait very patiently for potty breaks and let others go first. We take her out separately from her puppy (because the little one won't let Momma go 'potty' in peace). Serafina gets along with other dogs if you introduce her slowly so she knows they are not a threat to her or her pup (probably related to something in her history but she is not dog aggressive) and she loves to play. Serafina is always very excited to see her family when they have been gone or when she gets up in the morning. Serafina is very observant and she will watch you when she is hanging out to make sure she knows where you are to see what you're doing - she is also very loving and enjoys hanging out on the couch with you when she's tired of playing or laying on the floor with the family and a chew. Serafina is a smart wonderful dog who loves to be with her family and play with toys.' Serafina has been spayed, de-wormed, micro-chipped, is current on vaccinations, on monthly heart worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. This rescue does not administer it's own vaccination shots. All of our rescued dogs' medical care has been administered by a licensed Veterinarian. All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., pro-biotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
