SAY HELLO TO ROCKY! Rocky is a most handsome 4 1/2 year old golden coated Shih Tzu boy. Weighing in at 11 pounds, Rocky is a sweet and gentle soul. Rocky was found as a stray and in horrendous condition. He was picked up by a kind citizen and brought to the rescue. It is clear that Rocky has had a rough start to life. When we first saw him we thought he was a much older dog. His eyes reflect long term grooming neglect. They are clouded with scars but he sees well enough to appear like any other dog. He is very playful and gets along with everyone. He deserves a home where he will be the King to be loved on and spoiled to make up for his hard years behind him. Once his coat grows out he will be stunningly handsome and he has a genuinely beautiful heart to go with those looks. Rocky's family will be adults or adults with kids over the age of 12 who have experience, gentle hands and respect for small dogs like Rocky. Rocky is learning the house training and is improving every day. Please note that like all rescues, he will need gentle guidance and patience as he learns his new family's routine. He is leash trained, rides politely in the car and greets all he meets with a smile and a tail wag. He is a longer coated breed that will require regular brushing as well as professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks. Rocky's adoption fee is $ 450.00 This fee includes his Veterinarian Wellness checks while here at the rescue, all vaccinations including rabies and bordatella, de-worming, a pre-adoption professional groom and a microchip with lifetime membership. Rocky will also have a new collar and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality grain free kibble that he has been eating. His adoption fee also allows us the ability to put funds towards the next little one in need of rescue!
