About Kyzer - Re-home ASAP!

Adoption Fee: $50
American Shorthair
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Kyzer needs to be re-homed ASAP due to finances and I need to move soon from our home to a place that does not accept pets. He was raised on a species appropriate raw meat diet, but is being weaned to canned food. If not adopted soon, he will be going to a shelter. I was adopted at 3 months old from a shelter. I was also adopted with my big brother (from a different mother). His name is Cody (ID: 19-11-29-00215) and he is 2 months older than me and is a Bombay. We can be adopted either together or separate. Cody likes to be the alpha-male which I think makes Kyzer a little anxious, but overall they get along good. Kyzer turned 4 y.o. on March 10th and is about 14 pounds. He is an indoor cat. Overall, no health issues, but the dust from clay litter does irritate his respiratory (he will wheeze). I use pine pellets in a special made litter box and he is good with that. He is more of a lighter sleeper and is more energetic. He likes the laser light, some toys, and cardboard boxes to play in. His favorite toy is a small fuzzy ball that you can practically play fetch with. He can be hesitant (and hide) with new people, but will warm up to them eventually. With the right person, he is super loving to where he will lick your toes and fingers and let you love on him. He can cuddle when being held (most of the time). He is a patient cat, clipping his nails (fully clawed) is easy as you can lay him on his back on your lap and he lets you trim away. He needs to be brushed to minimize the hair balls. Now and then he will cuddle on your lap. He has a precious meow and his looks melt you. He has a sweet demeanor. He likes being under blankets and such. He is a little jumpy with loud noises (vacuum, garbage disposal, sudden noises). He does like to get into the washer and dryer when doing laundry and any place he can open. He can open bi-fold doors and french-handled door knobs. I have to lock doors that I don't want him getting into. He does like to chew so keep the plastic and cleaners away from him. He has chewed cell phone cords and some electrical cords (not all the way through - except for a cell phone cord that was not plugged in), tape and boxes. I am not sure if he would be good with younger children. I do not think he would be good with other animals (besides with Cody) due to him being a little anxious. He was also exposed to a puppy (half his size) and did not like him at all and tried to paw him. Overall he is a great, super sweet loving cat with the right person. He is micro-chipped, but the address had not been updated since we moved a couple years ago. He had all his kitten vaccines and at his last vet visit, in April 2019, he was titers tested and still has antibodies for rabies, therefore, he did not need to update his rabies vaccine.
