About Thirteen

Thirteen is a perfectly house-trained American Foxhound (no papers) rescued from a farm where she was kenneled with 40+ other dogs. Because she failed to have any drive to hunt (she would make a beeline to the farmhouse instead of out running with the other dogs)....the previous owners decided she was useless to them. I took her in to give her a chance and have done what I could to keep her fed and warm. She has never relieved herself in our home, and has had no formal training. She mostly sleeps all day in my office. The reason we feel we cannot provide a good home for her is because a dog should be a part of the family, and we have a toddler, a busy 6 year old and 9 year old and own a business that keeps us out of the home 10-12 hrs a day. She deserves to have a family or companions, people that welcome the dog hair and can give her one on one attention. We have tried for a year and simply cannot. She loves our outdoor cat, and our two kittens, but our older indoor cat has put himself in a position that we feel will be dangerous to our children (and himself) should Thirteen decide to defend herself against him. She's so sweet and simply deserves a family that has time for her.
