About Belle

Adoption Fee: $150.00
American Bulldog / Pit Bull
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Belle is a 6 year old american bulldog/bully mix female who is full of love to give. Her past was not so good, but she found her way to a better life when she was brought to a local dog pound. From there, she has been spayed, brought up to date on vaccines, dewormed and micro-chipped. Due to chronic, untreated ear infections, Belle has irreversible cauliflower ear. This condition of her ears is not painful, but the scarring has left her essentially deaf. Belle is completely housebroken and tells you when she wants to go outside by pawing at you or barking. She LOVES children. She would be best in a home without other animals so she can be the center of attention. {Special words from Belle's foster mom: 'Belle is a sweet little girl who loves to curl up next to her human (and snore), being very calm and relaxed. She loves her foster dad as much as her foster mom, so gender is not a preference for Belle. She gives many sweet kisses to everyone, showing you how much she loves your company. Belle gets along well with her foster canine brother and tries to play with him. However, since her foster brother is older and a bit grumpy at times, he doesn't especially love her playful moods. Though it seems she would do great with another dog, especially one who is a little playful!'} From Belle's foster mom, too sweet to not share - let's help Belle find 'her person!': 'Belle is still looking for her forever home. I think she's the longest resident/foster with The Road Home Animal Project! We're her foster parents and we LOVE her so much but she deserves a home without cats. We crate Belle at night and let our cats roam the house. And every night it breaks our heart to have to do that. She deserves to be able to sleep all night in a bed with her human. She loves to snuggle underneath the covers and lay next to your legs. Sleeps all night long. Snores lightly, but nothing to keep you awake. She's low maintenance, not at all hyper, crate trained, loves to go for rides. She's about 6 years old, up to date on vaccinations and spayed. Even though she's pretty much deaf due to her ears not being taken care of before she got into rescue, we have no issues communicating. We think she can hear a little. (High pitch doggie talk.) Has been trained on a training collar but honestly, she doesn't do much wrong anymore, so we haven't been using it on her. Totally housebroken. Will sit in front of you or paw at you when she needs to go out. Also will let you know if you're a little late on that second feeding of the day. She does okay with our dog. He's laid back. She would need to be the alpha. But she doesn't need another dog's companionship to be happy as long as she has 'her person or people.' Loves men and women both. Has a tail that wags 360 degrees and constantly makes us laugh. She has a little extra sag due to having litter after litter before she came into rescue, but that adds to her character along with her cauliflower ears. Loves to keep herself occupied with some heavy-duty toys and chews. Yes, we will cry when she's adopted as we fell in love with her. And love her more each day we have her... but there is a home out there for her that would be more perfect than ours, and it'll be happy tears! Belle's adoption fee is $150.
