About River

River is a very handsome 2-yrs old grey and white young husky boy! Very high energy ultra playful, very dog friendly but he could tire your dog out from playing too much Loves tummy rubs and to have his nose and face rubbed and petted. He seems to be cat friendly when close up in the house. We've always had them separated by a gate but he mostly ignores them and doesn't go crazy. Usually on walks if he sees a cat or something in the distance he'll jump up-and-down and pull but that's usually how they are at a distance. If he can't come into the kitchen or somewhere to be with you he'll whine and jump up on the glass door so he really wants to be around people. River sometimes will try to play/bite with you like you're another dog so not good for small children to be around or anybody new to dog ownership or huskies, and someone is not familiar with how to read dogs personalities. If you're husky savvy, familiar with dogs and how to read them this would be an awesome playmate for your energetic dog. River can also be very toy and food/ treat possessive. He could bite you hard if you try to take his toy or treat away from him. If you're good at reading dog's body language, you will know when it is safe; however, he is not food possessive around other dogs trying to eat out of the same bowl, and we can actually move his food bowl around while he's eating and he's fine. It's just when he gets an extremely hyped up and in a frenzy usually after wrestling with another dog and is intense on playing with an object or toy...that's when you could get but if you try to remove his toy. When that's the case we suggest you to make your presence known to him by scratching him on the rear and gave him a few pats worked your hand up to his head started scratching his ears and reading his reaction and distracting him so you don't totally surprise him when taking an unauthorized toy away from him. So it's just in that scenario that you need to be aware. The other 99% of the time you'll see he's very loving and especially when he walks up to you you start scratching his head then he puts his head to the ground then he rolls over and gives you his tummy to rub. Then you take your other hand and rub his nose at the same time. River is really a fun loving boy! He needs a husky savvy person/family who truly appreciates who he is and accepts how he is to love him and enjoy his companionship! River has been neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines!
