About Appa

'Little Appa has come such a long way since he joined his foster family on December 15! Appa is a sweet, snuggle-buddy, probably a Maltese-mix who is 14 Lbs and about a year old. He loves to run, go for walks and car rides, he will need regular exercise and training to continue on his journey to being a happy and healthy dog. Appa will need an experienced owner that believes in setting boundaries and is willing to be patient in order to build trust and properly socialize this sweet little guy. The right person or family will be rewarded with the love and loyalty of this funny and sweet pup! In his past life, Appa used aggression if he was scared or felt out of control and we are still dealing with some of those behaviors. Because of this, he will need to go to a home with no kids or older kids that can be calm and patient with him. He currently lives with his foster family in Salmon, Idaho with two cats and a 105 Lb lab mix. His foster family is working with him on socialization and crate training, he is great with cats and has fun playing with other dogs in a supervised environment. Although we have seen great improvement in a short amount of time, Appa can still lash out when he meets new people or is uncertain, so he will need a forever home that is dedicated to continuing his rehabilitation. This little fella will make you laugh and is sure to make an amazing family member for the right person that is willing to put in the time to help him reach his full potential!
