Courtesy Posting: Super Friendly Dog 'Howie' A1899042 LA City/West LA Shelter, Los Angeles, So Cal The LA City/West LA Shelter has a Super friendly, outgoing aussie chow looking mix named Howie that is available for adoption or rescue. He was just transferred from the Harbor Shelter (to West LA) where he was a shelter favorite. Howie ended up at the shelter due to his owner being hospitalized. His owner is not able to come for him and now Howie is in search of his forever home. Howie loves hanging out with both his two legged and four legged companions, and has shared a kennel with several different dogs with no issues, as well as has been tested with dogs of all sizes, and both sexes. He loves to come out for walks and wiggle his tail happily everywhere he goes. Per Medical Howie is a really nice guy, knows how to sit and lie down on command, lame on right hind - possible hip dysplasia and definite spina arthritis on x-rays, although he seems to get around okay and is fairly active. He is listed as only 6 years old, is more likely closer to 9 though, and would possibly benefit from some meds though.
