About Jake

Meet Jake! This handsome and debonair middle aged (approx 7 yr old) mix is the perfect medium sized hound/beagle type mix. Jake is a true blue friend through and through. He absolutely loves hanging out with his people. He is perfect for snuggling when the weather is gross, but is also very happy to go for a walk and get a little fresh air when it is nice. Coming home to Jake will be your favorite part of the day, we guarantee it! Jake found himself at our rescue when his family was not able to care for him properly any more after some changes in their circumstances. Jake has previously done well with cats (but we can cat test him again if you have some felines in your life). He can be picky about his dog friends, prefering those smaller than himself who will give him a little space, but we can certainly see any resident dogs are a good fit. Jake can be a bit hesitant and protective of his stuff (we get it, Jake) with new people, but once he considers you a friend you are a friend for life. Because of this he likely would appreciate a little more low key home. He would also really enjoy having a yard to sniff around in again, but also walks very well on a leash. Jake does have sensitive skin and is prone to breakouts every now and again, but nothing a course of antibiotics and/or steroids doesn't clear up. He has previously had bloodwork done to rule out underlying issues. He is also neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
