About Oliver

Meet a very special boy, Oliver! This 13-months-old Collie/Shepherd mix has the sweetest and most loyal nature once you build the trust with him. Ollie loves to cuddle and is great on a leash. He is ~40 lbs and about 17' at the shoulders. Ollie is in need of an active family with a confident and friendly doggie brother or sister to follow. Large fenced-in yard would be ideal for Oliver to release his energy and play. Ollie may be cautious of strangers, but his curious nature eventually wins over, especially if he is led by example of another social and friendly dog. Most of Oliver's life was spent in an overcrowded dog shelter in Russia. He lived in an outdoor kennel with his brother and other pups without much human contact, so learning to trust humans and live in a real home has been a challenge for Ollie when he first arrived to the US. Separation from his brother as well as fast changing new environment has built up a lot of stress and anxiety. Ollie had to conquer a lot of fears and learn to socialize properly. That's why our rescue has arranged for Ollie to undergo a live-in training course with an amazing dog behaviorist in Virginia. Now that Oliver has been rehabilitated, he is ready to find his forever home! Oliver is healthy, neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations. He is currently staying in Manassas Park, VA, where a meet and greet can be arranged with a qualifying family.
