About Roxy

This is Roxy. She is a 1.5 year old boxer-pit mix looking for that special person to love fur-ever! She has done well with young kids and cats (she might chase a 'fraidy cat, but she learns respect quickly when given directions). She is not great with other dogs, though, so her forever home needs to be a one-dog only kind of place. She's not 'dog aggressive,' so she would be fine to take out on walks and events, it's just when she lives with another dog that constantly tests their place in the hierarchy, she lets them know their place how any young, strong dog would, which can lead to vet visits and stitches. Given her age and breed, I will not send Roxy home with just anyone. There will be an interview process and home visit to make sure it's a good match. She is a sweet, loving, and loyal girl that is eager to learn anything you'd like to teach her. She came pre-installed with Sit, but we updated her with a Down, Stay, and Belly command. She also has a kennel where she eats and stays at night and is fully housebroken and knows to ask to go outside. As stated earlier, she is young and very strong and is entering that state of puppy-hood where they like to test boundaries and patience. So, while she is very close to being the 'perfect dog,' keep in mind she will need daily discipline in minding her manners to maintain that level of perfection. My goal is to find her the right home without having to send her to a shelter to become someone's rescue story. She does need your help and your love, but I would like to avoid subjecting this beautiful soul to abandonment to gain it. Though it breaks my heart, I know my home is not Roxy's forever home, my jobs and life just can't accommodate for that right now. She is up to date on vaccines and of May of this year, spayed, and comes equipped with everything: kennel, oversized dog-bed, slow-feeder food bowl, harness and leash, flea/tick and heartworm prevention for the next few months, and so, SO much love to give!
