About Max

I know Max isn't a Saint Bernard and if you are looking for a super sweet, mellow gentle giant, I may have your guy. Like a Human Only Better. Meet Max: Max is a 6 year old hound, (black and tan coonhound) mix. He is Super Sweet, Super Gentle, Very Sensitive, Super Easy Going and Mellow. Slightly majestic and very chill. He walks great on a leash, doesn't pull at all. He is a large, 110 lbs, Gentle Giant, needing a companion. Max is EMOTIONALLY BALANCED. He doesn't need rehab, he needs a consistent loving environment. He needs a calm owner, who wants a best friend. Max is house trained and very good with cats and dogs. He can drool a bit, more when he is nervous but not a lot. He smells more than most dogs. I am fostering Max from a shelter. I hope to find a home for him soon, because I am quickly falling in love. There is just something about him. I find him great to be around and want to be around him when I can. Max's previous caretaker died in September and Max went to a shelter. He didn't do well there. He is way too sensitive to adjust to such a canine insane asylum. His prior caretaker obviously loved him well and took good care of him, in that he is such a balanced dog. The only behavioral issue I have had with him is that he likes to go on the furniture and my dogs are only allowed on one couch. Other than that he has been stellar. I haven't heard him bark yet. He has these big fungus looking things on back of his front elbows that the vet said is nothing to be concerned about. Just from a big dog laying on hard surfaces. I know with the right person, Max will absolutely delight and an incredible gift in the life of his new owner/ family. He will be a calm, loyal, loving, attuned companion. He is one the most gentle souls I have ever met.
