#A5325702 Chico is a magical 1-year-old charcoal-and-brandy brindle neutered male Pit Bull and Boxer Mix who came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as an owner surrender on October 8th. Weighing 60 lbs, Chico is a handsome teenage dog who needs some guidance and training to mature into a balanced adult. For now, he's cooperative on leash, but he needs practice and all the puppy basic training. A playful pup who loves butt and back scratches, Chico seemed to prefer our female volunteers and was cautious when approached by new people. Since he likes to have some time to warm up to new people, we recommend a home with a patient person committed to training and socializing Chico. For now, the shelter is requiring that any children in the home be high school aged or older. He is calm around other dogs and has enjoyed hanging out in the Gentle/Dainty playgroup. With some time to settle in to a new home where he feels safe, Chico is likely to bond closely to his person and show his true personality for a lifetime of companionship.
