Bast is a sweet pup who had a rough childhood. His original owners attempted to make him into a fighter, then left him with a shelter when he didn't show their desired temperament. On the one hand, Bast is very eager to please, he's a fast learner, he loves to swim, play with dogs and is the biggest cuddle monster you ever did see. On the other, he has a lot of anxiety around new people and situations. In the past, he has become aggressive when afraid or in pain. As a result, we have focused our training around building his confidence, but he still has a ways to go. I rescued him at 5 months old and have spent the past 3 years providing him a low stress environment with some steady routines. But my partner and I are going through some major life changes and are unable to provide Bast with the continued training and activity level needed to keep him. His ideal home would be with an individual or couple with a yard and who has previous experience with large breed rescues. Please feel free to reach out if this sounds like a good fit for you and we can schedule an introduction.
