About Lil nicole

��%A4� Our superstar Nicole is up for adoption! ��%A4� Lil Nicole was rescued from the shelter when she was only 5 weeks old as a 'last call' �٪'� Nicole was a special case as she's paralyzed in her hind legs and her brain doesn't communicate with her back part of the body. We immediately took her to one of our vets. After the x-rays and some tests, the vet said her back is broken and doesn't seem like it's fixable and suggested humanely euthanizing her. We asked if she's in pain and he said no. He suggested to see a specialist ���� Nicole was so tiny and but mighty, and full of spunk. You couldn't tell she was paralyzed. If she was willing to fight then we wanted to do everything possible to help her ���� Our visit to Southeastern Veterinary Neurology center was encouraging. Dr. Reese thought she was born with bone deformation and her spine wasn't connected right in the middle. This affected her brain to not communicate with rest of her body. But she has great reflexes in her hind legs and tail. So Dr. Reese and Dr. Block decided to start physical therapy using her reflexes to teach her how to walk. So far we are into 5 sessions and both doctors are very impressed with her progress ��%A4z��%8F%BC She may never walk like a normal cat but she may be able to get around better �٪���%8F%BC She's got 10 more therapy sessions scheduled at this time to continue to improve muscles in her hind legs to help her walk. She even goes on the kitty treadmill filled with water. She really is a fighter and tries her best ���� Lil Nicole is a happy, playful kitty doesn't know that she's different.
