Hi, my name is SPANKY - ID#A3478851. I am a neutered male, black and white American Pit Bull Terrier, and I weigh about 63 lbs. The shelter staff think I am about 5 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Sep 29, 2019. Spanky is such a handsome guy, but he definitely needs our help to leave the Shelter safely, as he has a whole list of issues that are working against him. Spanky came in as an Owner Surrender with the previous Owner indicating he needs to be in an only dog home. On top of the Shelter being full & Spanky being under the weather with a doggie cold, he also has some medical concerns that he should have follow up on with a Full Service Vet. All of these things combined are likely going to land Spany At Risk very soon. The only other Surrender notes filled out indicated he had been owned over a year & was kept outside :( Spanky is listed as an only 5 year old Pittie Mix, already neutered & micro chipped & about 63lbs. Even under the weather he happily came to greet me & had lots of gentle tail wags in exchange for some yummy snacks & attention. His medical notes indicate he appears to have some chronic skin issues & ear issues with the underlying cause being noted as possible allergies (exacerbated by living outside unfortunately). He also has a mass on his abdomen that will need further diagnostics. His doggie evaluation notes indicate he was stiff greeting a social female dog at the fence with his tail high, but then softened slightly & exited. He will be brought out again for another attempt. It would be amazing if a Rescue could help Spanky since he has so much going on, but he is Adoptable & we really hope someone sees him soon & wants to help him leave the Shelter safely.
