About Kiki

Siberian Husky
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Kiki is an absolute love! 1-2 years old, funny, goofy, playful, she will entertain you all day with her antics. She loves people and craves human companionship. She also enjoys having a lot of playmates She is a very attached, loving, and happy young girl. A potential future therapy dog. She LOVES people, loves to be the center of attention (ahem, attention-hog), and one of her favorite places is in between her people's legs. She could very easily be trained to walk military style between a person's legs! She's very tolerant and will let humans do most everything they want with/to her. She is terrified of having her nails trimmed so far but is working on it slowly. Nail trims would only every be necessary for her dewclaws as she keeps her nails filed short herself. She's extremely food motivated and very smart. She knows 'sit' and 'shake' with both paws like no other. She knows 'down' and 'over' only when she wants to though. She is mostly used to her crate for sleeping and will take her meals inside it (cannot be free fed as she will gorge herself if given the chance), but she doesn't like having to be in there when her people are up and about. She enjoys cuddling on the couch or in bed when she can. She's vocal and playful with people and desperately tries to make dog friends, but comes off very strong a lot and can scare the other dogs. This can sometimes turn into a fight when the other dog thinks she's attacking but she's really just trying to play. She would do best in a home as an only dog, or with a very submissive/non-reactive dog or two to teach her how to play without scaring others. She picks up on and tries to imitate how other dogs play very quickly, so she really just needs a good doggy teacher to get play down pat. She does great at the dog park, going from person to person asking for love. She can be toy-possessive at times and should be monitored closely if playing with toys around other dogs. She's an EXPERT at escaping and can jump a 5 foot fence with ease, so a secure yard is a must. She absolutely will escape when she can't get to those people she wants to be around (ex. if left alone outside without access back inside as she pleases) or if she's upset with her people. She loves to chew soft fluffy things such as pillows, throw blankets, and comforters. She is mostly house-trained as long as there is free access to outside, but has not learned to alert her people when she wants to go outside to potty. She prefers to pee on carpets instead of asking to go outside. She likes to zig-zag on leash and pull if she especially wants to see something, but is learning leash manners. She would do best in a car with a dog seat belt, as she likes to imitate a parrot while you're driving. She does well around young respectful kids, and high-energy 5 year olds. Unknown with indoor cats, but tries to chase outdoor ones on walks. A typical husky in a lot of ways. Contact: www.happyheartsgsr.org
