She has been vetted and spayed. She is good with another nice cat or a nice calm dog, nice older kids if any. She would also be happy as the only child to have her people all to herself. 6 years ago we found 56 cats piled on top of each other in 6 cages in a dumpster. It was one of the most horrific rescues we had ever done. Dora was adopted until her dad got a new wife that didn't like cats. 'Goodbye my beloved pet who had been my loyal companion for 6 years!!' PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. MAKE THE EFFORT! IT'S A LIFE! As any good rescue organization, WE ALWAYS TAKE OUR ADOPTED ANIMALS BACK, we don't want any of our animals to end up at the kill shelter. After Lady has adjusted to her new environment she is a sweet, low key, easy-going kitty but she will need time to adjust. We have had her back for a couple weeks and she is now comfortably lounging on the bed or the dresser. She doesn't like to be lunged at, forced or have hands fast approaching her (what cat does!) but responds beautifully to a nice loving touch. She is easily approaching my husband now when he is at his computer, even standing up on her hind legs to see what he is doing. She even jumped up on the computer desk once, had a WHOOPS look in her face, then jumped down. She is not an in your face holdy hold kitty but is a great companion that welcomes petting, brushing and being talked to. She loves her back scratched, not so much her head. A nice soft gentle body rub and she keeps herself immaculate. There are 5 other cats in the room with her which is too much for her and inhibiting her from playing more but occasionally she will play with a toy on her own. She never scratches on furniture, has great manners, loves her cardboard scratcher and a very used brown mouse. She has been free fed quality hard food (first ingredient beginning with meat) and gets canned food morning and night. Without all the other cats around she would probably enjoy interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. She loves kitty treats and a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with the sun rays beaming in. She will expect to share your bed but she is very polite about it and will snooze at the foot. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cats fluids. A good quality canned food pate diet is better than dry food however there are some dry food that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, laser lite, inside home ADOPT Lady aka Dumpster Dora FOR LIFE!
