About Carl

Carl can be a bit grumpy with his very independent and dominant personality; however, he can also be endearing with his need for attention and cuddling by those he trusts. Carl would be suited for a home that does not have kids or cats, but he has lived happily with another female dog. He will not actively play with other dogs and is more of a loner around them. He has some food aggression with bones but not with regular dog food. His biggest fault is that he is not the greatest at meeting new people or children because he has fear aggression, and he has a bite history so Carl's new owner needs to have the time and resources to deal with his behavioral and anxiety issues around people and especially children he does not know. He is crate trained, knows basic commands, and is fully potty trained. He has no health issues that I am aware of. He can be a very sweet dog for the right household, and I hope he's able to find one very soon.
