Dutchess is a blue gray and Nala is a cr̬me torti, both are short hair and approx. 4yr. They don't have to be adopted together but if you are looking for two new family members these girls are the icing on the cake. Their adoption fee is $75ea. They have been vetted and spayed. They haven't been around other animals or little kids but love their interactions with their people. Mom's work schedule has changed and she has to travel out of state so these 2 lovelies need a beautiful place to spend the rest of their lives. THEY DIDN'T TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT AND DUMP THEIR RESPONSIBILITY ONTO THE KILL SHELTERS. THEY MADE THE EFFORT. PETS ARE FAMILY MEMBERS. PLEASE GET HELP IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP A PET. Dutchess and Nala are very easy going, clean, no fuss companions. They are excellent company, someone to talk to, someone to sit with and watch tv with. Mom says'| 'Dutchess is the bug catcher in the family and loves to play with flies or bugs in the house. She is very playful but also loving. She loves to be scratched under her chin and will lay in my lap or on the floor and just purrrr.. She lays on the tile and carpet along with the couch and sometimes she will even lay by my feet when I'm sitting on the couch watching TV. She also likes to lay on my guestroom bed. Nala will be cautious with new people at first and will need more of an adjustment period than Dutchess but will warm up given time. After she has adjusted she is super loving and always wants to be close to me. She will greet me at the door when I come home and she will even come when I bend down and call her name and put my hand out to pet her. She loves to be petted, will lay in my lap and purr. She really loves attention and will meow for it. They are sisters and have been together their entire lives. They are very content. They will cuddle up together on the couch and will also groom each other. They play and tease with Duchess usually being the instigator chasing Nala around but it's all for fun. They are both a little overweight and need room to run around and be active. They both like to lay behind the curtains on the floor or carpet but also like the couch, lap or cat tree. They love looking out. They both scratch horizontally vs vertical so the corrugated cardboard scratchers that lay on the floor are good and maybe a rug they could scratch on.' They have been free fed quality hard food (the first ingredient beginning with meat) and get canned food morning and night. They will play off and on a little on their own but they would benefit from interactive toys like feather on a stick and shoe lace drag as well as the Fling ama String and the $2 'cat dancer' toys. They love kitty treats but everything in moderation :) and they would love a tall cat tree sitting in front of the window with the sun rays beaming in. Below information is for preventative purposes'| Too many male AND female cats are getting the UTI - urinary tract infection and crystals in their urine. It's a blockage, it's painful and if ignored will lead to death. Vets say the hard food is at fault because it does not deliver enough liquids. It's simple to monitor. Just make sure there is at least one good size pee ball in the litter box a day. Kitty fountains are effective to help manage a cats fluids. A diet of good quality canned food pate is better than dry food however there are some dry foods that are pH balanced and help maintain Urinary Tract - UT health like Blue Buffalo, Purina Pro Plan, Purina One UT health, Iams UT health. AVOID FISH! Cats/Kittens are an 18 year commitment! They need a cat tree, laser lite, inside home ADOPT Dutchess Dijon and/or Nala Nellow FOR LIFE!
