About Darby

Adoption Fee: $225
Siberian Husky
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

LOCATED IN BEND,Darby came to the rescue back in August, from high-kill Devore shelter in SoCal. Starving and suffering from mange, he had no hair except on his big head, and was underweight by close to 40 pounds. Somebody was deliberately letting this poor dog slowly starve to death and die from neglect. The wonderful vets at Central Oregon Animal Hospital got him started on a very simple treatment for his mange, and we gave him medicated baths twice a week for a month and all the healthy food he could handle, and look at him now! A clean bill of health, a gorgeous red fur coat just in time for the Oregon winter, and this boy is now looking for a real home! Darby is a big boy, he now weighs a healthy 75 pounds, is a lover, super social with males and females, still loves to eat :) and yes, he knows sit and 'paw'. He needs to be in a home with another dog to play with, and an active family who appreciates his enthusiasm for the second chance at life he has been given! We have tons more pictures, including pictures of him at his worst before he got well. This is a special dog and needs a special home. Crate trained and full of love, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, groomed (many times!)
