About Stella

Lab / Golden Retriever
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Stella is a precious 1 1/2 year old Yellow Lab/ Golden mix who is kind, happy, affectionate and eager to please. She is about 50 lbs, and will fill out more now that she's in a loving foster home. Stella loves to be around people of all ages, and is also well mannered with other dogs. Her very favorite thing is belly rubs, and as soon as she is petted she will lay right down for a proper belly scratch. (It's hard to get pictures of her sitting because she much prefers to be in prime belly rubs position) Stella is a smart girl who already knows 'sit' and 'paw'. She is great at loose leash walking, and is happy to go along at whatever pace you set. She likes squeaky toys and loves to learn new things, especially when the teaching comes with lots of treats. if you toss a stuffed animal, she will retrieve it immediately...she'll chase a ball too but she prefers the stuffed animal toys. When Stella came to us in October, she had lost much of her fur to non-contagious mange and she was very thin. Her mange had been treated and her lovely soft yellow-gold coat was already growing in nicely. We got her a cozy coat to keep her warm as it continues to grow in. In foster care she has already put on weight and she is adjusting beautifully to the good life! Stella likes to keep an eye on everything going on, and loves to greet people with a wiggly tail wag and a kiss. She is equally happy lounging around the house and getting belly rubs as she is out and about on a walk. If you are looking for a love-bug who promises to be your gentle and loyal companion, Stella is the perfect golden girl for you! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here:(https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). Please read about the adoption process (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. All fields on the application must be completed in order for our volunteers to process it (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy, and our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care, so please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested prior to submitting. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health and safety of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources, so if you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
